These Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Nixers Services Ltd. They apply to all users of the platform operating within the Republic of Ireland. Please read them carefully before registering or using any part of our service.

Acceptance of Terms

By registering for an account, clicking "I agree," or otherwise using Nixers Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines we may publish.

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the platform. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of Nixers Services following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Eligibility & Registration

To use Nixers Services you must be at least 18 years of age and be located in, or providing services within, the Republic of Ireland.

Client accounts

Anyone may register as a client (job poster) provided they are over 18 and based in Ireland. You are responsible for providing accurate information when posting a job, including the location, scope of work, and agreed price.

Professional accounts

To register as a professional, you must successfully complete our ID verification process. For certain regulated trades (including but not limited to electrical work, gas installation, and structural carpentry), you must also provide valid certification or registration with the relevant regulatory body before accepting jobs in that category.

Nixers Services reserves the right to refuse or revoke professional status at any time if verification requirements are not met.

ID & Certification Verification

All professionals on the Nixers platform are required to complete identity verification before being listed or accepting jobs. This process is designed to protect clients and uphold the integrity of the platform.

  • You must provide a valid government-issued photo ID (e.g. Irish passport, driving licence, or national ID card).
  • For trades requiring certification (e.g. RECI-registered electricians, RGI-registered gas installers), you must upload current and valid proof of registration.
  • You consent to Nixers Services retaining verification documents in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.
  • Submitting false, expired, or altered documents is a serious breach of these terms and may result in immediate account removal and referral to relevant authorities.
  • Nixers Services does not guarantee the skill or quality of any professional. Verification confirms identity and stated credentials only.

Roles: Clients & Professionals

Nixers Services is a marketplace platform. We facilitate connections between clients and professionals but are not a party to any contract formed between them. The contract for services is between the client and the professional directly.

Client responsibilities

  • Provide clear, accurate, and complete job descriptions.
  • Ensure the job location is safe and accessible for the professional.
  • Fund the escrow in full before any work commences.
  • Respond promptly to milestone completion requests.
  • Not attempt to engage a professional found through Nixers outside of the platform in order to avoid fees.

Professional responsibilities

  • Only accept jobs you are qualified and certified to perform.
  • Complete agreed work to a professional standard and within any agreed timeframe.
  • Communicate promptly with the client through the Nixers platform.
  • Comply with all applicable Irish law, building regulations, and trade standards.
  • Not solicit payment outside of the Nixers platform payment system.
  • Maintain your own valid insurance for the services you provide (see Insurance section).

Job Listings & Agreements

Clients may post job listings describing the work required, location, and budget. Professionals may submit proposals or express interest. A job agreement is formed when both parties confirm the scope, price, and timeline through the Nixers platform.

  • All job agreements must be made through the Nixers platform. Off-platform agreements are not covered by our escrow, dispute resolution, or any platform protections.
  • Nixers currently serves home and residential jobs, as well as professional services. Large-scale commercial contracts may be accommodated in a future update.
  • Either party may cancel a job before work commences, subject to the cancellation and refund terms below.
  • Any changes to scope or price after a job has been agreed must be confirmed by both parties through the platform before proceeding.

Payments, Escrow & Milestones

Nixers Services uses a milestone-based escrow payment system to protect both clients and professionals. The full agreed job fee must be deposited into escrow by the client before any work begins. Funds are held securely and released to the professional in three stages:

Milestone 1
25%
Job Accepted

Released to the professional when both parties confirm the job agreement. This enables the professional to purchase necessary materials.

Milestone 2
25%
On-Site Arrival

Released when the professional confirms they are on-site and the client acknowledges commencement of work.

Milestone 3
50%
Job Complete

Released when the client confirms the work has been completed to a satisfactory standard.

Important payment terms

  • The client must fund the full escrow amount before Milestone 1 is released. No partial funding is permitted.
  • Milestone releases are triggered by both parties confirming completion of that stage through the platform.
  • If a client refuses to release the final milestone without legitimate reason, Nixers may investigate and release funds at its sole discretion following a dispute review.
  • If a job is cancelled before work commences, the full escrowed amount (less any applicable platform fees) will be refunded to the client.
  • If a job is cancelled after Milestone 1 has been released, the 25% already paid to the professional is non-refundable unless a dispute ruling determines otherwise.
  • Nixers Services does not hold funds indefinitely. Unclaimed or stale escrow funds may be subject to administrative review after 90 days.

Platform Fees

Nixers Services charges a platform service fee on completed jobs. This fee supports the operation, maintenance, and continued development of the platform, including verification services, escrow management, and dispute resolution.

Current fee structure

A platform fee of 15% of the total agreed job value is applied on completion of a job. This fee is deducted automatically from the escrow funds before the final milestone is released to the professional.

Nixers Services reserves the right to update its fee structure. Users will be given reasonable notice of any changes, and changes will not apply retroactively to jobs already in progress.

All prices displayed on the platform are inclusive of VAT where applicable. It is the professional's responsibility to account for any tax obligations arising from payments received through the platform.

Disputes & Reporting

Nixers Services provides a structured dispute resolution process to help resolve issues between clients and professionals fairly and efficiently.

How to raise a dispute

  • Use the 'Report Issue' feature on the relevant job page. This opens a support chat directly with the Nixers admin team.
  • A support ticket will be created and you will receive email confirmation with a ticket reference number.
  • Both parties will be given the opportunity to provide evidence, including messages, photos, and documents.
  • Nixers Services will review all submissions and issue a ruling within a reasonable timeframe (typically 5–10 business days).
  • Nixers Services' ruling on escrow fund release is final within the platform. Users retain the right to pursue independent legal remedies.

Escalation

If a dispute cannot be resolved through the platform, users may seek mediation through the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) or pursue the matter through the Irish courts.

Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviours are strictly prohibited on the Nixers platform and may result in immediate account suspension or permanent removal:

  • Providing false, misleading, or fraudulent information during registration or verification.
  • Accepting jobs for trades or services you are not qualified or certified to perform.
  • Soliciting or accepting payment outside of the Nixers platform to circumvent fees.
  • Harassing, threatening, or discriminating against any other user.
  • Posting fake reviews or engaging in any form of review manipulation.
  • Attempting to access or interfere with another user's account or the platform's systems.
  • Using the platform for any purpose that is unlawful under Irish or EU law.

Limitation of Liability

Nixers Services is a marketplace and technology platform. We are not a party to any service contract formed between a client and a professional, and we do not employ, supervise, or control any professional on the platform.

  • Nixers Services is not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any job performed through the platform.
  • We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury arising from services provided by a professional found through the platform.
  • Our total liability to any user in connection with the platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by that user to Nixers Services in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.

Insurance & Liability Cover

Nixers Services does not provide insurance cover for professionals, clients, or any work carried out through the platform.

Professionals

All professionals are strongly advised to hold their own valid public liability insurance appropriate to the services they provide. For certain regulated trades, insurance may be a legal requirement. It is your responsibility to ensure you are adequately covered before commencing any job.

Nixers Services may in the future require proof of insurance as part of the verification process for certain trade categories.

Clients

Clients are advised to ensure their home or property insurance policy covers third-party tradespeople working on their premises. Nixers Services accepts no liability for damage to property or injury occurring during the course of a job.

Account Termination

Either party may terminate their account at any time. You may close your account by contacting us at contactsupport@nixersservices.com.

  • Account closure does not affect any active jobs or funds held in escrow at the time of closure.
  • Nixers Services reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any account that breaches these terms, without prior notice in cases of serious or repeated violations.
  • Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. Any outstanding payments owed to you will be processed subject to a final review.
  • We may retain certain account data following closure as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

Relevant legislation applicable to your use of Nixers Services includes the Consumer Rights Act 2022, the Electronic Commerce Act 2000, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

These Terms & Conditions were last updated in June 2025. For questions, please contact contactsupport@nixersservices.com.
